| Mission Students are directed to subjects they are interested in with the help of area elective courses which are given beside the compulsory ones. Apart from these, free elective courses enable students to learn a second language other than English (such as French, German, Russian, Spanish) or provide them with the opportunity of taking courses from different departments. Students are also encouraged to study in European schools through the student exchange agreements we have with some participating universities within the Erasmus Programme. |
Vision The objective of English Language and Literature Department is to provide students with a working knowledge of English language and literature and to provide them with an understanding of the western culture. Another aim of the four year programme is to bring versatility to students through improving their English grammar, writing, speaking, reading and listening skills in English, along with their knowledge of culture and literature. |
Job Opportunitues
Students of English Language and Literature Department complete their education as individuals with efficient cultural and social knowledge in various areas. Our graduates can work as English teachers at secondary schools, instructors at universities, dramaturges in state theatres, editors in publishing houses, administrators, assistants or translators and interpreters in firms. Apart from these, they can also work in the areas of public relations or tourism as well as in public institutes such as The Ministry of Tourism or The Ministry of Foreign Affairs. |
